Standing up for what is right

Hello everyone! I decided I should post today about standing up for truth, standing up for what’s right. Gods truth and not mans.

Too many times we as christians shrink back in the things of God. We are afraid to speak and share truth, afraid of confrontation or of what one might think or say. People’s opinions of us weigh so heavily on our minds and Gods opinion of us slowly goes out the window. “What if I offend someone”, “What if they respond to me in a negative way”, “What if they think I’m crazy or some radical for Christ”. These thoughts run rampant in our minds.

Here is the answer-SO WHAT!!!! Who cares! We are not to run around trying to start confrontations but we can not be afraid to speak truth and that’s the bottom line.

The bible says that we shall know the truth and the truth shall set us free. Well how can we expect to help set others free if we ourselves are in bondage. Scared to speak up and speak out and don’t let someone actually ask us if we are Christians. So what are we doing and how many souls are we winning?

Our lives are supposed to stand out and be lights to others, but if we are too busy trying to fit in this will never happen. This is not the life Christ died for us to have. Let us pursue Gods plan for our lives and walk in it no matter the cost.

God rewards those who diligently seek Him. Are you seeking Him today or are you shrinking from Him today?

Ready for baby

Hi everyone! I haven’t posted in awhile. I’ve been very busy with homeschool and preparing for our new arrival. I’m officially 38 weeks today, and have already been having contractions. So it could be any day now.

All of our bags are packed and we are ready to go. My husband and I have both been “nesting” so to speak. Spending the past few weeks getting the house ready for the baby.

The children are excited and so are we. I was actually hoping she was going to come this weekend, being that my husband had several days off. But babies come when they are good and ready and you really can’t rush that process.

I know it’s sort of strange but I am really looking forward to hospital food. I’m really not sure why but I am. 🙂 I will keep everyone posted.

Be blessed!

“Having a rough day?”

Strange title right? Well, I was going to title this post “Count your blessings” but I decided to go with what you see. Here is the reason, we all at one time or another have rough days, rough weeks, rough months and some of us seem to have rough years.

I was having a rough week last week, I was so tired it didn’t make any sense. I just felt physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually drained! I really did, I had a few moments of crying out of no where for what seemed to be no reason at all because it just felt so heavy! Has anyone been there? I’m sure someone has.

While I was having my pity party, woe is me. God just so gently reminded me of how blessed I really am. (My family and I) He reminded me while I was busy thinking about all the things it seemed like I had to do, which felt like a list miles and miles long!

As I started to look around our living room, I stared at the bookshelves we have. (4 total) And how they are just filled with books, books, and more books! And we haven’t paid for any of them, not even the shelves themselves. They were all free! Some of our books are used, but most of them are BRAND NEW! Even all of our children’s school curriculum, from workbooks to flashcards, to puzzles, to educational cd-roms….I mean you name it, all of it free!

For those of you that homeschool you know how much school stuff can cost. So how is it that my family and I have brand new curriculum, books, school supplies amongst other things and we didn’t spend a dime? We didn’t beg anyone, we didn’t do anything. God did it all!!! And it’s not because we are favored over anyone else, as God has blessed us He blesses others too! (Including you, yes YOU reading this post right now!) 🙂

Have you overlooked what the Lord has been doing, or what He has done in your life? Alot of times we think blessings from God are only when we receive some money as a gift, or a check we weren’t expecting. But what about the other everyday things? A parking spot right in front of the store on a busy day, a good report of health when you go to the doctors? Making mistakes yesterday, the power of praying a repentive prayer to God and waking up the next day knowing that you have been forgiven and the slate  wiped clean? (Alot of blessings that God gives can’t be purchased with money)

Sometimes He blesses us with money, or saves us money or even time. For instance I have always given away all of our baby stuff once that current baby could no longer use them. I just always felt like why hold on to them, when I know there is someone out there that could use them right now. I  thought that when the time came for us to have another child, that God would provide. (Either by the finances God blesses my husband with through work, or gifts or some other avenue)

So with that being said, with this pregnancy like all the others we were starting over from scratch. Lo and behold, God showing up like He always does. We got a car seat, a swing and a bouncer all for $20!!! Now those of you that know about baby stuff, know very well that this is a deal out of this world!! A car seat alone can easily run over $60 dollars.

One instance of many, but with all that said; let me say this. When your day seems that it can’t possibly get any worse. Take a look around you and I’m sure you can see or remember some way that God has been a blessing to you. You are alive and you are reading this right now right? Well there you go, you are breathing and it’s a new day. Count it all joy! (Or try your best too!)

We serve a good God and just knowing Him is a blessing all in itself!

This was encouraging to me and correction at the same time being that I was having a major pity party. It has helped me greatly! My family and I are all well, healthy, nothing missing nothing broken, provided for and taken care of by God. Why should I complain? Today my youngest son decided he was going to pour powder all over the couch, the table, the floor, etc. I could feel heat rising under my collar, “Here we go, something else I have to clean up” ran through my mind. Then I had to stop and chuckle, at least he didn’t get wise and pour water all over it and mix it in. (Being that he was trying to make a masterpiece) And we have a vacuum that can easily suck it all up.

I watched as he kept making circles in it on the table, and thought. “Wow, they don’t stay this little for ever”. I have to try to enjoy these times because they don’t last long. God loves you! Be blessed!

Homeschool Adventure

Hello everyone! It’s been some weeks since my last post. My initial plan was to officially start homeschooling the end of August or beginning of September; but our oldest son (Giovanni) is a eager beaver. So we started last month.

As you can imagine being a homemaker you are already pretty busy, not to mention when you homeschool. We are expecting our 6th child. We are due Sept.18th, but I will be 37 weeks in 2 weeks; which is technically full term. So being busy is an understatement to say the least, but it’s productive! 😉

School has been going pretty well. My son has 6 main subjects that I am teaching him:

1. Learning about God
2. Language Arts (reading/writing)
3. Math
4. Social Studies
5. Science
6. Health

The other subjects like art, music, etc are not required subjects in our state, so those will be worked on as well, but are not apart of our regular schedule.

I have decided instead of trying to teach him several subjects a day, we are just going to focus on one. Teaching our children about God is something we do everyday! I let Giovanni pick which subjects he wanted to do on what days and here is what he chose.

Monday- Language Arts
Tuesday- Math
Wednesday- Science
Thursday- Health
Friday- Social Studies

Doing things this way has been going pretty well. Not to mention I’m also doing preschool and kindergarten with our younger children. Right now school is very relaxed for us, and I like it this way. I need the relaxed atmosphere being that I’m expecting and have been very tired, but my children also appreciate this as well.

I also have a weekly “family schedule” that I created which breaks down our day from rising hours to bedtime. This helps to keep me on track so to speak, plus having a routine when you have a large family can be a really great thing. Not that there aren’t times where you totally don’t follow the “schedule” because those times deff come. Having a schedule just helps!

I will post our family weekly schedule at another time if anyone is interested. I’m posting this via my phone so I can’t load my schedule right now. I have also created “Righteous Work” charts for our older children. I do these instead of chore charts because chores to me sound so mundane. We have taught our children what the bible says about everyone having work to do, so having these type of charts really helps to reinforce that teaching.

I also have a “job description” chart, more for the older children. It explains each job and what needs to be done, just in case they forget. 😉 I don’t like to spend my days repeating things to the children that I don’t have to, so this helps.

I’m still working on charts for the younger children which will mainly consist of pictures so they can see what they are to do.

Don’t know how I got off on all of that, well actually I do because the family schedule shows what time we focus on school. So that’s where these side notes came from. 😉

I really don’t even like the term “school time” because I believe that real learning comes from day to day growth and learning through life experiences as a family. But anyways, for now I will continue to use that term.

Thanks for reading, just wanted to post what my family and I have been doing for the past several weeks. If you are like me and homeschooling is a first for you, be encouraged. You can do ALL THINGS through Christ who strengthens you. BE BLESSED!

“Urgent Message!”

In thinking about what to post today, I have decided that I should post a urgent message to attempt to grab someones attention. What are your dreams about?

God speaks to us in many forms, one of the most common ways is through our dreams. We sleep 1/3 of our lives (that’s a rather HUGE chunk!) and that gives God a lot of time to talk to us. He will speak to us during the day as well but our emotions and thoughts are steadily going, but at night we are resting and really don’t have any control over our minds, or emotions. Which gives God clear avenue to download into us what He has been trying to get across to us during the daytime.

Please pay attention to your dreams! Write them down, pray and ask God for their meaning! He will reveal them to you, look up in scripture all the times God dealt with people in their dreams. Warnings, alerts, preparations, glimpses of what was to come and keys into our past that will help us understand our now. I mean the list goes on. God has been dealing with me and talking to me via dreams ever since I was a little girl. I really didn’t understand the meaning of all of them initially or the importance of them until I became an adult.

He cares about even the little things, He really does. I remember this one time when I was little I had this black cat named Sierra and I just LOVED her! I’ve always loved animals and was so EXCITED when I finally got her! Well she was a indoor cat and we took her outside sometimes but not all the time because she was very adventurous and I was worried she would run off and not come back.

Well when we left during the day for school and my Mom for work, we would leave the windows open so she could sit in them (but they had screens so she couldn’t jump out). Well I had this dream that my cat had a hole in her neck and in the dream she was acting not like herself and all of sudden we could see this white worm thing poking out of her neck, then we pulled it out and all this pus came out!!! Yes, very graphic and gross I know! Especially dreaming of this as a little girl! Well I told the dream to my mom because it kinda freaked me out. Lo and behold it was a dream of warning from God.

My cat got smart and starting clawing at the screen when we would be gone and made a big (but rather) small enough hole for her to squeeze out of, which resulted in her scratching her neck. Then she would be romping around outside when we would be gone. By the time we realized what she had done, she had got a parasite in her neck…..Shortly not too long after this that dream came to pass, we didn’t know she had got a parasite in her neck, and sure enough one day we seen this white worm and everything unfolded just as it had in the dream.

See to someone else that may seem minor but I loved my little cat and God knew it. So He showed me and prepared me for what was to come. My cat was ok, after a trip to the vet, antibiotics and us cleaning her neck often! And this is just one time of thousands where God has showed me dreams to prepare me, to warn me, to shine light on my situation, to correct me, etc.

“For God speaketh once, yea twice, but men perceiveth it not. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed; Then He openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction, That He may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from Man. He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.” (Job 33:14-18)

This is just one of MANY scriptures talking about dreams in the bible. God gives them indeed He does, and visions also. Whether if you believe that are not, I’m definitely not here to debate but just to shed some light on this area. Have you been praying and asking God for an answer, well sometimes He answers us in our dreams. I’m not special, to God yes, but so are you!

“Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth Him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with Him.” (Acts 10:34-35)

I could give several examples of what God has said to me and showed me in visions and dreams ever since I was a little girl, all the way up until now. I thank Him for talking to me in dreams and I pay very close attention to them and most times He gives me the revelation then and there and other times He reveals it to me later, but He ALWAYS reveals it! I look forward to them, I write majority of them down! I have notebooks full of stuff from years and years ago! Get on the bandwagon and find out what the Lord is saying to you in the midnight hours! Be hungry for it and thank Him for it. Even dreams of correction are good because God only corrects those whom He loves and He loves us all!!!

If you have any dreams you want to share or talk about please feel free to post a comment or email me personally at There have been many occasions God has used me to help give an interpretation of someone elses dream. Not making you any promises, because God chooses when to disclose to me what someones visions or dreams are saying. But trust and believe this, if He dosesn’t disclose the meaning to someone else, He will most certainly disclose it to you; for it is YOU that He gave the dream to.

Be blessed everyone, for the Lord truly desires for His people to be blessed! Actively blessed! Spiritually, physically, emotionally, financially and every other way possible! Spend some time with Him today and see what He is saying to you. We have no greater friend than Him and I mean this! Confide in Him, talk to Him, laugh with Him; yes God has a HUGE sense of humor. He created humor!!! (I have more to share on that at another time-stay tuned!)

God is ALWAYS!!

I woke up early this morning around 3:30 am or so and not too long after being up and not having the greatest time trying to fall back to sleep I heard an angel speak unto me. To make a rather long story short, yesterday was an AWESOME day for my family and I, towards the latter part of the day I had some moments of some much needed correction from God.

The angel that spoke to me had a very encouraging word for me. See that is the type of God we serve, when I do something wrong no matter how small or large it may seem to me, God corrects me quickly but He never bashes me over my head about anything. His correction is firm and loving and tender all at the same time. He corrected me that evening and I prayed and repented, then He sent an angel to me in the early hours to speak unto me. Did the angel bring up my shortcomings from earlier and throw them in my face, of course not!!! See when ever an angel brings a message to you from God, he will only say what it is that God has sent him to say. God is not a God of condemnation and after I repented my transgression was cast aside as far as the east is from the west and in God’s eyes, it was as if it had NEVER taken place. That’s the power of His forgiveness and grace.

He has removed our sins as far as the east is from the west. Psalm 103:12 (NLT)

With that being said the angel had several encouraging things to share with me that I will not disclose at this time. What I will say is this, after that message “God is ALWAYS” dropped into my spirit and I KNEW that’s what I was supposed to blog about today. God is………

We as a people both believers and unbelievers alike have to get to the place that we realize on a day to day basis who God is. It’s not a one day thing, partial time, right now just because it’s working or right now just because it’s not working thing. People may try to argue that God doesn’t exist and all this other stuff, and me being me I will not argue with someone over that fact. Personally it’s a waste of time, energy and of everything else. There is a season and time for everything and there was a moment in my life where I dismissed the gospel as truth and it was nothing but foolishness to me; but there was a time that I was going to come to accept this truth and God knew when that time was. It was in His plan all along, here’s the thing with that……God will not ever override someone’s will. He just won’t do that, He doesn’t want anyone to perish but He will not force Himself on anyone so we all have a choice.

That’s love folks! We are not His puppets and He didn’t make us to be puppets. I can’t force my children to love me, nor can they force me to love them. God is the same way, we are His children and He desires our love from a giving heart and not because we feel forced to love Him.

So now moving on to God speaks, He is alive and well and He speaks but sometimes we fail to listen. He will talk to us in visions, dreams, through other people, through circumstances, situations, through His written word etc. The list really does go on. Are we listening and hearing what God is saying? For those of you that are in the kingdom of God and reading this right now ask yourself that question and be honest.

What has God already said to you that you aren’t doing? Is it something from long ago, have you forgotten or dismissed what He said? Is it something that you just really don’t want to do so you’ve passed it off like God didn’t say that to me!?! I mean really, let’s just be honest….This is VERY important!

Sometimes we have prayed about something and received an answer from God but yet we keep on praying about that same thing expecting to get a different response from God. Not going to happen! He doesn’t change what He has already said. Isn’t that great though, when you can’t take anything else to the bank as gold you can take God’s word as gold because it NEVER changes! What a dependable God we serve! Get to know Him and you’ll love Him I GURANTEE it!

Our relationship with Him is always growing and prospering and becoming more intimate and personal if we desire and seek after a real relationship with Him. Not a relationship that our parents have with Him, or our neighbors, or Beth at church, or the elderly lady down the street; but US!! There are some people that spend years and years trying to have a relationship with God through someone else, and I’m here to tell you right now it doesn’t work! Get to know Him for yourself, taste and see that the Lord is good! 🙂

You can call Him the Almighty, Father God, ABBA (which means Father), Jehovah Shiloh, Jehovah Nissi, El Shaddai, He who is and was and is to come, I AM. The many names of God goes on as well but God is ALWAYS!!! And I’m talking about God, the one true God, not a god that many people have created and made up to follow, the REAL GOD! Look up some of these names and their meanings in your bible, concordance, online. Whatever you choose but look them up. God is alive and well and He’s not missing in action.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9 (NLT)

Does this verse say that God is sleeping or idle? If He is with us wherever we go then God must really be a pretty active God don’t you think? God is ALWAYS! Let’s get back to the basics, pray and ask God for direction in your life and ask Him if there is something He told you long ago that perhaps you forgot, and He will bring it back to your memory. We have not because we ask not. (That’s in the bible as well) I’m not going to put every single last scripture on here, get a bible and get into it. Or google some of these things and it will tell you book and verse. It’s more than just a book, you can’t read it like you would a typical book, there are so many wonderful hidden truths that are never made clear to us by God until we seek Him out and spend time reading, applying, reading and applying. Is He requiring you to spend 24hrs a day 7 days a week just reading your bible, no. Take baby steps and just focus on one thing at a time.

I’m going to do me!

You’re probably thinking that’s a weird title and in a way it is. I have a short but VERY LONG story to share today. I have spent SO MUCH time researching homeschooling. From techniques to schedules to curriculum, etc, etc. I have spent over a year doing this, yes a year!!!! Not to mention the time I have spent looking up schedules and time management for larger families, etc.

I will tell you something about me, I don’t like to waste time. Even when I attended college I prayed first before I even enrolled in a school. I prayed about the school and what I was supposed to major in. I did not want to go in a direction that I was comfortable with, or that I felt I belonged in and spend 4+ years studying something, all to find out that I shouldn’t be studying that or there was something else I wanted to do. I want to be lead by God and I decided years ago to try my best to follow Him and His direction for my life.

So I prayed FIRST and I waited until I got an answer from God. He showed me the school and what I was supposed to major in. YAY!!! Well I’m still the same way now and probably even more so. We have a LARGE family, soon to be 6 children and including Daddy and me there will be 8 of us total. Time is a gift and I don’t like to waste it. I believe in being good stewards of what God has given us, our resources, our time, our spiritual gifts, etc, etc.

With that being said I took that same thought process and tried to apply it to home school and managing our home. Not that I shouldn’t have done that but there has to be a balance in things. I had a conversation with my hubby yesterday and basically found out I’ve been wasting my time!!!! Something that I despise, yet I’ve been doing it for quite some time now!!! (Yes, you are going to hear the word “time” several times in this post—lol)

I started to tell him how trying to come up with a schedule for homeschool was starting to frustrate me. I like a plan and I like some sort of schedule and balance. I know all things can’t operate like this but I try. He asked me plainly “So with all this “researching” that you’ve been doing have you come up with a schedule yet?” I answered “No”. He asked “Have you come up with a plan yet?” My response “Well, no–not quite.” (Hubby) “So you have spent so much time researching, reading this blog and that blog, and checking out this site and that site and you still don’t know what to do, right?”………(Me) “Well……mmmmh…….yeah, well I…..ok, but……mmmh, no I haven’t come up with anything, just A WHOLE lot of ideas.”……..

To make a LONG story short, my husband was right!!! I have just been frustrating myself for no reason. There was more we discussed and talked about of course but this is a summary. I would share with him about this idea and that idea and what this person was doing and that person was doing. And I started to drown out who we are as a family. Yes, I can get some cool ideas from here and there but the bottom line is this. My family is unique and so is yours!!! I can’t try to mimic or be like someone else, God made me ME for a reason! Getting ideas and advice is one thing but what I was doing was insane and I was stressing myself. There is DEFF no JOY IN THAT!!! lol 🙂

This isn’t the first time my hubby has had to say “Babe, we aren’t like everyone else and what works for that family may not work for us, don’t stress yourself. Do what YOU can do and focus on just one thing at a time.” I’m just SO THANKFUL for him because we are SO MUCH the same but yet so different. Where he is strong, He helps me get there and the areas that are my strengths, I help him and together we make a GREAT TEAM!

So I’m done, I’m so done! I’m going to do ME! I’m going to take things with a grain of salt and stop trying to get all these different schedules and advice and this and that to work for us!! It’s not going to work and it’s not meant to, partial things we may be able to apply but at the end of the day we are unique and God has a plan for our family and it may not be on the same road as the next families. I’m going to walk this thing out and use the gifts, talents and abilities that God has given to me and my family. Less time researching and more time applying whats already in me!! What a relief!

You may be thinking “OK, really, what’s the big deal?” But you have NO IDEA how much pressure I was putting on myself mentally just going through the process of what to do and what not to do. I haven’t even officially started to home school my children yet (except for the pre-schoolers) but for my soon to be 3rd grader we are starting in Sept. So school hasn’t even officially started yet!! Like I said previously, I don’t like to waste time. So I thought the more information I had the better. I could skip all the dips in the road by getting advice and tips/ideas from pros who have been doing this way longer than me. The fact is, I can learn a lot from others more experienced than I but this journey is also meant to be learned through personal application and growth and that’s something I can’t skip.

So in closing, Hip Hip Hooray for all of you out there bold enough to do you!!! I’m on the boat with you and I’m MOST CERTAINLY GOING TO DO ME!! 🙂
